Cyark is a site dedicated to the digital preservation of cultural heritage sites. The education section of their site is particularly relevant for college teaching. Here there are several lesson plans that have been developed using 3D data from the site and google maps to teach students about geography, mathematics, history, etc. Projects include, using google maps to look at global warming, using architectural 3D data to map and measure, and creating virtual tours of archaeological sites. While these projects are trageted to K-12 students, many of them could be beneficial for college students if used at a faster pace. In addition to the education section, students can use the projects section to get a variety of media for archaeological sites around the world (photographs, panoramas, 3D scan data, videos, section plans, etc.). There are many brief videos on the site that address issues of preservation and teach about archaeological sites. These brief videos are nice ways to break up lectures.
